International Student Admission

With students hailing from over 100 countries and six continents, VIU offers a truly diverse and international experience. See our student profiles for more information from some of our students or learn about VIU in your language

F1 (Student) Visa Applicants
International applicants who wish to study in the US have the opportunity to upload additional documents to their application portal to meet the requirements of an I-20 form. If the student is accepted to their program of interest, they will receive an I-20, acceptance letter and further instructions for applying for an F1 visa in their country. An acceptance decision will not be made until after all documents are correctly submitted and transcripts are evaluated.

Other Visa Applicants
International applicants who would like to change their visa status to F1 from a different type can apply and choose the option for changing their status within their application. They will need to upload additional documents to their application to fill the eligibility requirements of an I-20 form. Please visit our Change of Status page for further information.
