- Apply to graduate: If you are graduating in Spring 2013 and you have not yet applied to graduate, do it today! Complete the application form and then make the appropriate payment in the Accounting Office. If you have questions about applying to graduate, please consult the Registrar’s Office.
- Order your cap & gown (also called regalia): Make the appropriate payment in the Accounting Office, and then submit the receipt and your height/weight details to the Office of Student Affairs. Keep a copy of the receipt and order confirmation for your own records. You must submit your details to the Office of Student Affairs no later than Friday, March 15, 2013.

- Participate in the student speaker contest: If you wish to speak at the commencement ceremony, please apply to participate in the contest no later than Monday, March 15, 2013. Only one speaker will be selected as the contest winner by a panel of judges. Judging will take place on Friday, March 22, 2013 in the Waples Mill Conference Center. - Attend the Graduation Rehearsal & Alumni Dinner: This year’s rehearsal and dinner will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Old Town Hall in Fairfax City. Rehearsal will take place from 4-6pm and the dinner will take place from 6-8pm. Click here for more details.
- Submit an Employment Notification Form: All students (even non-F1 students!) should submit this form to notify VIU of your employment status. If you are participating in an OPT program, this form should be submitted no later than 3 months after the OPT start date. Always notify the DSO if you change your residence or employment. You may meet with the DSO for more details regarding OPT and H1 sponsorship.
